ONE: UnConference

“And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere

Do you have a desire to see Christ fill “all things” in the city of Singapore? Do you have a burden to see Singapore engaging fully in its destiny as an “Antioch” for Asia? Do you yearn to see the generations walking together into this calling?

Join us at the ONE UnConference 2023 for a day of prayer, worship and waiting on the Lord. The goal is to listen collectively to Jesus our Good Shepherd, so that we may walk together as one people into the fullness of His glory and grace.

What is an UnConference?

Something Different

An UnConference differs from a typical conference in that:

  • The agenda is set on the day itself, by the participants. Without a pre-set agenda, we will wait upon the Lord, share what He says, and form breakout groups around those topics.
  • The process of innovation is led by the group, not experts on stage. We allow room for the Holy Spirit to empower us to co-create gospel-centered solutions together through prayerful and robust discussions. Light facilitation may be used to kickstart this process.
  • The gathering and follow-up is primarily led by the participants. An UnConference abides by the “Law of Two Feet”, where participants may leave if they are not engaged. They also decide follow-up steps amongst themselves (e.g. network further, host additional conversations, start initiatives, volunteer together).

We believe that this format would be most ideal to allow for organic conversations, connections, and innovations to arise. A trial session was held last year to test out this format.

Past topics include:

  • How do marketplace evangelists work together with ministries and churches effectively to strengthen our walk with God as Christian business leaders and bring the Gospel to the marketplace?
  • How can the church address LGBTQ issues in a loving way that doesn't put off those struggling with them?
  • How might the church raise up parents who can shepherd their children and those of others without the insidious mark of cultural and social expectations (eg., academics, social status, etc)?
  • Singapore is a wealthy city yet we have many poor in our land. How can we become more like the Acts church -- that everyone shares more so that no one is hungry, in poverty and in need?
  • How can we truly champion and support what God has placed in young ppl's hearts without any judgement or pre-conceived beliefs?
  • How can the Body of Christ pull their talents and resources to create safe and creative spaces for rest and refuge, and to encounter God tangibly?
  • How can we strengthen the spiritual, mental and emotional health of the youths in Singapore?
  • How do we reach out to the unsaved that will never step into the church?
  • What would it take for all Kingdom Creatives to be completely empowered and mobilised to bring the gospel to re-shape culture? What would that look like?
  • How might we nurture, journey with and disciple potential overseers, pastors, priests and prophets in the next generation?
  • How can we innovate Youth Ministries in Singapore to Empower them to serve within and outside the church that builds community, reduces youth ministry attrition rates and convicts them to evangelise?
  • What does an army rising up look like? Revival & Evangelism is on the hearts of many! How do we see churches, movements, organisations to align & march as one? What’s needed for our walls to come down?

What Will We Do?

We highly encourage you to block out the day fully, so as to make room for divine interruptions and connections.

*subject to changes as the Spirit leads

There will be minimal human facilitation post-gathering, as we expect the Spirit of God to direct each of us towards what is required for us to fulfill His purposes.

However, we anticipate gathering again in the future to celebrate what God might have done since the last meeting. We will also keep you posted on other gatherings by the global Movement Day family.
